To synchronize the Subharmonicon with another analog clock-enabled hardware instrument, like the Mother 32, follow these steps:
- Ensure that your clock source, in this case, the Mother 32, is capable of outputting a clock signal and is properly configured to do so.
- If you need assistance in setting up M32’s assign output, check out THIS link.
- If you need assistance in setting up M32’s assign output, check out THIS link.
- Connect a 1/8 inch patch cable from the assign output on M32 to the Clock input on Subharmonicon. Start playback on M32, and both instruments should be in sync and playing together.
- Consult the manuals for any module or hardware that transmits CLOCK for guidance on configuring its Clock output settings. You may have the option to send divisions or multiplications of the Clock tempo, similar to the capabilities of the Mother-32.
- An analog clock signal plugged into the CLOCK input jack of the patchbay will take priority over the internal clock. A MIDI clock signal connected to the MIDI IN input jack of the patchbay (using a 5-pin DIN socket to 1/8” plug TYPE A MIDI connector, such as the one included with your Subharmonicon) will override both the internal clock and any analog clock signals connected to the CLOCK input jack.
- The internal clock operates at 1 PPQ until a MIDI clock is detected. When a MIDI clock is present, the PPQ changes to 4 (16th notes).
- Consult the manuals for any module or hardware that transmits CLOCK for guidance on configuring its Clock output settings. You may have the option to send divisions or multiplications of the Clock tempo, similar to the capabilities of the Mother-32.
