This can happen when you save a project using VST3 version of the Editor plugin, but trying to recall that session when no VST3 installed and/or seen by the DAW (having the DAW using VST2 instead).
“Forward” compatibility is not supported. Please reinstall the Editor, choosing to install VST3, and reload the project.
