Moog Grandmother | General Troubleshooting


For general troubleshooting of the Grandmother, we recommend the following steps in order:


  1. Reset all GLOBAL SETTINGS 
    • Hold down the HOLD and SYNC buttons for three seconds until you see the SYNC button blinking.
    • Hold the highest black key (A#2), and while holding it press the lowest black key (F#0). You will see the three buttons on the LHC blink rapidly for a moment to confirm that the reset happened.

  1. Perform a NOTE CALIBRATION 
    • Hold down the HOLD and SYNC buttons for three seconds until you see the SYNC button blinking.
    • Once blinking, hold the PLAY, HOLD, and TAP buttons, and then press the lowest white key on the keyboard.

  1. Perform a POT CALIBRATION 
    • Send the necessary sysex files to the instrument via USB. You can find the necessary files and further instruction here.

  1. Update the FIRMWARE to the latest version.
