The analog and knob-per-function nature of Moogs allow for a wide variety of sonic tweaking. However there are a few settings that can render a Moog silent. Here are a couple of place to check to ensure your Moog is still making sound:
- If you are using a synth with presets (Minitaur, Voyager, Little/Slim Phatty, etc) try changing the presets. There are a number of knob settings that may cause the synth to no longer produce sound.
- Check your Cut off knob position. With the EG Amount set to “0” and the Cutoff knob all the way down. They synth is not allowing any frequines through the filter.
- The Amplitude Envelope or A EG may have a long ATTACK or the entire ENVELOPE may be turned down. Try turning the SUSTAIN on or bringing the SUSTAIN knob up.
- There are certain MIDI settings that will negate the keyboard, check to see if your LOCAL CONTROL is ON, unless you are using an external MIDI controller or DAW and don’t want to control the synth using the attached keyboard.
